When I was young, I thought graduation was far away, but soon enough, it came, just as it has come for you! It is a well-known saying that the older one grows, the faster time seems to pass. Because this is true and time will pass quickly for you, too.
当我年轻的时候，我以为毕业遥遥无期，但转眼间，它来了，如同你们现在的感觉一样。有一个众所周知的说法，一个人年纪越大，时间似乎过得越快。这个说法是真实的，时间对于你们来说也会过的很快。

I am glad I attended two excellent universities—Brigham Young University and Harvard University—and I encourage you to do the same; that is, earn a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from excellent universities. Often, it is good to earn your degrees from different universities. You will be glad you did. You will learn a lot at each university. The world will recognize you and will pay you well for doing so.
我很高兴曾就读于两所优秀的大学——杨百翰大学和哈佛大学——我鼓励你们也这样做，去优秀的大学获得学士和硕士学位。通常，从不同的大学获得学位是件好事，你会为这么做感到庆幸。你会在每一所大学都学到很多东西，世界也将会认可你，并给予你丰厚回报。

Generally speaking, it is easier to be admitted to top schools for a master’s degree than for a bachelor’s degree—so keep earning good grades in college and apply for admission to excellent graduate schools. I’m glad I did. A man I know observed, “The world will pay you what it thinks your worth, so get the best education
you can.”

When you go abroad, stay open to new cultures and new ways of living, you will find that China has many good traditions, and you will miss them while you are away. You will also find some wonderful traditions in other lands. Learn from these. In the future, I hope that all countries continue to develop and share their wonderful traditions and ways of living openly.
当你走出国门，接触新的文化和新的生活方式, 你会发现中国有许多好的传统，你会怀念这些传统。当然，你也会看到其他国家的一些优秀的传统，并请从中学习。我希望,在未来,所有的国家都能继续传承和分享他们的优秀传统和生活方式。

I am glad that I invested while I was young in my education and in my family. I recommend that you not delay getting an education or beginning a family. You will likely be able to work throughout your life to earn money; however, for most people it becomes harder to start a family or earn college degrees as you become older, so don’t delay getting your education or your marriage and family, if you want them.
我很庆幸我在年轻时投资了我的教育和我的家庭。我建议你不要延误学业，也不要延误组建家庭。很大程度上，挣钱的机会一生都会有，只要你一直工作。然而，对大多数人来说，随着年龄的增长，组建家庭或获得大学学位却会变得越来越难。所以如果你有接受教育或组建家庭的计划，就不要推迟。

Learn from others, but don’t compare yourself with others because your life is yours! No one can take your place, and you can take no one else’s place. However, you can enjoy many of the best things in life as you seek them in wisdom and in order.
向别人学习，但不要拿自己和别人比较，因为你的生活是你自己的!没有人能取代你的位置，你也不能取代别人的位置。然而，带着智慧和理性去寻找，你将会享受到生命中许多的“最好”。

Life is wonderful and has many seasons! I encourage you to welcome each new period of life. In each season of life, live with gratitude for the past and the present. When it is time to move on, embrace each change. Live with courage and confidence about the future. I promise that as you do this—especially as you practice being thankful—you will receive many good things in your life.
生命美好，四季更迭。我鼓励你们去迎接生命中每一个新的阶段。在人生的每个季节，都要感恩过去和现在。当你要继续前进的时候，拥抱每一次改变。对未来，要有勇气和信心。我保证，当你这么做的时候，尤其是当你练习感恩的时候，生活中的美好将会不期而至。
